We practise full contact karate - The Kyokushin Way
Karate Kai International is an African Full Contact Karate Organisation. Our Hombu dojo is located on the Cape Flats in the Western Cape province of South Africa.
We currently have dojos in Hanover Park (hombu), Ruyterwacht, Riverton, Heideveld, Newfields and Vanguard Estate. Our dojos are located in extremly volutile and poor communities with the aim of keeping youngsters off the street.
Our karate classes are designed to help all our members gain confidence, boost their self-esteem and promote a heathly lifetyle through physical training.
Our sessions are open to students from as young as four years old, youth, adults and even pensioners may become members of our dojos and organisation.
We have an all ladies class that is conducted twice weekly in Vanguard estate by one of our female karate instructors.
Our organisation competes in a minimum of four karate tournaments annually. Our clubs have travelled to Japan on 12 occassions to compete in tournaments held in Tokyo and Osaka.
We are an affliate member of Karate South Africa.
Our founder is Kancho Deen Daniels who grew up in Hanover Park and practised Kyokushin Karate for 40 years before establishing Karate Kai International. We will continue to teach Kyokushin Karate as part of our sylabus but Kancho Deen will also take his own direction in the teaching of his favoured martial arts which is karate.
